Cooking and Culture Weeks at the Finca del Alamo
Experience all the comforts of our beautiful secluded Finca, while, at the same time learning how to prepare delicious Spanish dishes and delving deep into the customs and culture of southern Spain.
Tina’s Spanish background, language, culinary skills and knowledge of the area gives you the opportunity to engage with the local culture in a very personal hands on way. Tina’s long experience in hospitality ensures a convivial, well run and welcoming experience, whether travelling with a friend or coming by yourself. She will be your host and guide for the week’s itinerary, which includes activities and excursions to broaden your interest in all things Spanish, taking in local crafts, music and dance, food, wine and history.
As well as sharing her tried and tested recipes for Spanish classics such as paella and croquetas, Tina will guide you on an exploration of the region’s rich heritage of dance, music, crafts and the unique terrain and history of the area. It won’t all be work and study……. there will be plenty of opportunities to escape to the unspoilt sandy beaches of the nearby national park and relax on the jasmine scented terraces of the large comfortable house, surrounded by olive groves. (Partners not interested in cooking would have plenty to do and see)!
Swim in the plant filtered pool and relax on secluded, sunny, lavender scented terraces set against a mountain backdrop.
Enjoy the local Spanish culture with special events organised by Tina
The nearby village of Nijar is well known for its crafts and music festivals.
Explore the unspoilt sandy beaches and rocky coves of the National park of Cabo de Gata.
